Article Date:
10 February, 2012 (All day)

Lindsey Richards, the daughter of Stewart and Gretchen Richards, was selected as this year’s Dance Sterling Scholar at Morgan High School! She has danced for sixteen years, performing numerous times. She won the All-Star All American title in clogging for two years,   was on the All American clogging team for seven years and was recognized as the National Jazz and Ballet Queen of America On Stage.

During her time in high school, Lindsey has been involved in the Morgan Youth Service Interact Club as well as the National Honor Society and was privileged to serve as the freshman class secretary. As a leader Lindsey was on the committee that organized and carried out a church youth New Year’s Eve Dance celebrating 2012 and is currently a dance instructor at both Morgan Academy of Dance & Tumbling and North Summit Dance Extreme. Her favorite classes at the high school are U.S. Government & Citizenship, World Civilizations, and P.E. Lindsey’s hard work with the cheerleaders and their state title victory was her favorite part of high school.

She enjoyed serving when she took part in a dance for the deaf and blind with her church youth group, and loved learning how the kids who participated interacted with each other. Aside from dancing Lindsey loves to travel!

She takes pleasure in learning about different cultures, seeing different places, and meeting new people. She has fun hiking, camping, and just being outdoors as well. After she graduates,  Lindsey plans to attend Weber State and study to become a Dental Hygienist.
