Morgan’s newest business, Bingham’s Custom Meats, is aptly named. At each turn, owner Nathan Bingham talks about the custom service provided by his business. Whether it is their custom crafted Boneless Baby Back Ribs, that are pre-seasoned and ready for the grill, or his bacon wrapped Kabobs he is ready to provide product tailored to his customers needs. Bingham’s ready smile is the first clue to his passion for his business and his love of serving customers.
Nathan and Shar Bingham are originally from Huntsville. “The first time I met my wife was when she was two. I was five or six.” Says Nathan. She was his best friends cousin. They dated after Nathan returned from his mission and then married. They are now expecting their first child.
Nathan began his career working for Valley Market. He began wrapping meat and then became assistant manager and then manager. His experience in Valley Market has given him a good sense of the kinds of packages and types of products that customers want.
After working for Valley Market for ten years Bingham decided to strike out on his own. He started his own mobile game processing company. It was this company that brought the Binghams to Morgan. Nathan had heard that Chetters Meat had closed and was looking for equipment for his business. When he visited Morgan he saw a greater opportunity and purchased the business.
As Nathan is cutting each day he decides on the daily specials. Whether it is the Boneless Baby Back Ribs, bacon wrapped kabobs, steaks, or a Barbeque bundle pack with beef, pork and chicken will depend on what fits the days work and what Nathan believes his customers will want.
In addition to the traditional fare, Bingham’s also offers bratwurst made fresh in the store. He also offers ground chicken, tamales, and custom made jerky. Virtually any cut of meat can be custom ordered from Binghams. They also offer bundles for those looking to stock up or save even more on their meat purchases. From bundle packs to full cases customers can save even more money by purchasing in larger quantities. Specials are also available to those who “like” Bingham’s Meats on Facebook. Binghams will continue to offer game processing in addition to their products in the store.
Last Saturday was the grand opening. They had free hot dogs, drinks, and cotton candy. It was a great event and gave the Binghams the opportunity to meet more of the local residents of Morgan.
Bingham’s Custom Meats is located on State Street where Chetters Meats was previously. They are open Monday to Friday from 9 to 6 and Saturday from 11 to 6, but Nathan says to call if it is outside that time because he is often there. We welcome Bingham’s Custom Meats to the Morgan community.
